Java Equality and Relational Operators

The equality and relational operators determine if one operand is greater than, less than, equal to, or not equal to another operand. The majority of these operators will probably look familiar to you as well.

Keep in mind that you must use "==", not "=", when testing if two primitive values are equal.and also when we need to compare the results of two expressions or operands in a program then the equality and relational operators are used

OperatorDescription
==Equal to
!=Not equal to
>Greater than
>=Greater than or equal to
<Less than
<=Less than or equal to

Simple Java Program ComparisonOp, tests the comparison operators:

public class ComparisonOp {

    public static void main(String[] args){
        int num1 = 50;
        int num2 = 20;
        if(num1 == num2)
            System.out.println("num1 is equal == num2");
        if(num1 != num2)
            System.out.println("num1 is not equal != num2");
        if(num1 > num2)
            System.out.println("num1 is greater then > num2");
        if(num1 < num2)
            System.out.println("num1 is less then < num2");
        if(num1 <= num2)
            System.out.println("num1 is Less than or equal to <= num2");
    }
}
