Objects in Java

An Object is that entity of a class around which the whole class is built. As the name suggests, objects are the most important part of the Object-Oriented Language System(OOPS). If the architectural plan of a building is the class, then the physical reality of that plan would be the Object. Objects can be related to real life objects such as car, bike, Computer etc and each object has two characteristics: State and Behavior. For example, if there is an object named 'Car', then CurrentGear and CurrentSpeed could be the states and ChangeGear and IncreaseSpeed could be its behaviors.

For example, in the following program, t is the object of the class Student. t is an instance of class which helps call the method m2. Method m2 is not static and therefore it needs an instance of class to be able to get called.

class Student
{
	public static void main(String[] args)
	{
				System.out.println("Main Method");
				Student t = new Student();
				t.m2();
	}

		void m1()
		{

			System.out.println("Method m1");
		}

		void m2()
		{
			Student t = new Student();
			t.m1();
		}
}
